The Chelsea Pilot Clock is an exact reproduction of the original yacht wheel clock first patented and produced by Chelsea in 1911. Special tooling was painstakingly created for the yacht wheel to ensure each element of the unique design was reproduced exactly like the original. The case is forged from thick brass. The forged brass bezel opens with the original "shield" hinge and latch design. Polished and bronzed finishes are preserved with a clear lacquer coating. The clocks face is deeply etched brass, silvered, enameled and lacquered. Inside, the precision wind-up mechanical timekeeping mechanism chimes the ship's bells on the hour and half hour. A uniquely satisfying way to record the passage of time. This is no ordinary timekeeping movement.
